A delegation of the tennis center of the General Administration of Sport of China and Haoran International Tennis Promotion Co held an inspection tour of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) in Fujian province on March 4 to investigate the prospect of the sport there, Pingtan Times reported.

The guests, including Qin Shanglin, deputy director of the tennis center, and Jiang Xiangdong, Haoran’s chairman, visited a number of engineering projects and landmark tourist destinations such as the No 2 Customs Checkpoint, the Pingtan Planning Museum, Haitan Ancient City and Tanan Bay to get a better understanding of Pingtan’s infrastructure and development.

Haoran also signed an investment framework agreement with PCPZ’s administrative committee.

Li Dejin, director of Pingtan’s administration, extended a welcome to the guests and explained Pingtan’s ambitious plan of becoming an international tourist island taking advantage of being approved as part of the China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone.

Tennis is a wonderful sport to help Pingtan achieve the goal, and Pingtan hopes the sports authority can support the development of Pingtan’s sports cause, he said.

Tennis has made a big stride in China in recent years, but it still has enormous potential for growth. As a special experimental zone boasting a number of preferential policies, the tennis center is definitely endorsing the sport here by pushing for related tennis projects and attracting more people to play tennis, said Qin.

As a professional company dedicated to promotion and marketing service of tennis, Haoran will adopt a “tennis tourism” concept in a bid to boost the development of the sport as well as the tourism industry in Pingtan, said Jiang.
