Workers are undertaking both exterior and interior decorations of buildings in the Zhuyuan community in Pingtan county, Fujian province.

It is notable that all 12 apartment building will adopt roofs in typical Minnan (Southern Fujian) Style, which means they will have six roof pitches covered with red tiles. The design is also conducive to heat dissipation and preservation, and the dispersal of water.

About 40 percent of the roofs have been completed, according to an engineering report.

In the meantime, workers are accelerating interior tasks such as wall plastering and painting .

The No.5 and 6 buildings are likely to complete their outer decoration in mid December. And the entire project of the community is slated to be finished in May 2015.

The Zhuyuan Community is situated to the west of the Pingtan Transportation Bureau, at the junction of Cheng’nan village and Zhonghu village.

The community takes up an area of 210 mu (14 hectares), and has received an investment of 1.5 billion yuan ($244 million).

The 12 apartment buildings make up the first-stage construction of the community. They will be home to 1,145 households, including 756 who had to move from their original dwellings to make way for some major municipal projects.
