Pingtan could improve its rainwater collection system and connect it with some construction projects, according to Jan Dictus from the Netherlands.
He said that Pingtan could increase its biological diversity, and enhance its waste management through a classification system.
Instead of sticking to old policies and measures, Pingtan should be flexible and make changes to adapt to the environment.
“Because the environment is changing, new technologies keep popping out, and Pingtan ought to adjust its development plans to meet the new demands,” he said.
