The amateur cyclists will board Haixia, a high-speed passenger ferry that sails between Pingtan, Taichung and Taipei, to take on a 10-day cycling tour of Taiwan.

Visiting Taiwan by way of Pingtan is a route recommended by their friends in Taiwan, said Wang Guocai, a member of the riding club.

Pingtan has left them with a good impression and the residents are kind, said Xiao Yiping, who came to Pingtan for the first time.
