Roof work on four apartment buildings at a resettlement community has been completed in Pingtan, Pingtan Times reported on April 10.

The four buildings at Aoqian Resettlement Community – 7, 8, 9, and 11 -- saw their roofs capped around Qingming Festival earlier this month, according to a construction manager.

Workers are putting the final touches on the roofs, which will adopt a Minnan (southern Fujian) style to look like bamboo hats.

The apartments are for people who were relocated to make way for construction engineering projects.

Masonry work inside the buildings will begin after completion of the main structures.

The construction company has put 1,500 workers on three shifts, 24/7. Some of the buildings are expected to be ready as early as August.
