A survey of self-employed people in the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) began on April 11.

The annual survey, which continues for about 10 days, is an important part of the 3rd national economic census.

Economic inspectors will examine a variety of statistics including business revenue, expenses, wage payments and tax payments, all of which will be used to calculate the economic status quo of Pingtan’s individual entrepreneurs.

This year, the local economic census office cut the number of respondents from around 2,000 to 776. Firsthand data results will be transmitted to the State Statistics Bureau.
