A Taiwan businessman is planning to bring a group of 100 people to Pingtan in March for pre-investment investigations.

Zhu Sheng, a businessman in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, made the announcement during a discussion with the Pingtan government website at the local media center on Jan 8, one day after he took a tour around Pingtan.

Zhu said he had started to pay attention to Pingtan after the website published an article on Nov 18 on the island county setting up a base for start-ups of Taiwan college graduates, and he then contacted the website saying he intended to visit Pingtan.

The website helped Zhu to reach various government departments and other Taiwan businesspeople, and arranged his visit.

Zhu toured some government sectors and major industrial projects in Pingtan during that day, and had talks with some businessmen. He said the result is fruitful.

"To see is to believe. It is true that Pingtan is undergoing a comprehensive development."

Zhu, who had experienced working in Shanghai, applauded Pingtan's favorable policies to encourage Taiwan investments, saying it has a lot of potential. He also vowed to bring a delegations consisting of 100 members to Pingtan for investigations next time.
