An inspection team from the Central Organization Department of the central government, headed by Li Zhigang, deputy director of the Personnel Bureau, visited the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone in Fujian province on Dec 6, with the aim of increasing their understanding of its development.

The team toured several of Pingtan's industrial projects, including a customs checkpoint at Haixia Bridge, the Pingtan branch of TPK Holding (a large touch panel maker in Taiwan), a petty trade market open to Taiwan, and the Haixia High-speed Marine Passenger Terminal.

Li said that they were very impressed with Pingtan's speed of development and talent cultivation over the past few years.

He also said the island county should continue exploring ways to improve their talent recruitment system, and thus find more talents to help further its development.

Li suggested that Pingtan could implement preferential policies to attract talents - especially from Taiwan.
