Reno Romeu, a kitesurfer from Brazil, set a new Guinness world record with seven 360-degree rotations in the sky at the 2013 Kitesurfing World Cup, held at Longfengtou Beach in the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, east China's Fujin province, Pingtan's official website reported on Oct 24.

The Guinness China Night, a China Central Television (CCTV) program, was recorded at Longfengtou Beach after the freestyle race finished.

"This is very challenging and you have to spin very fast in the sky when you have totally lost your sense of direction," the official website quoted Romeu as saying. He also said he heard about the Guinness world records when he was a child, but he never thought about setting a record himself.

The previous record holder completed a total of six rotations. The public will be able to enjoy Guinness China Night during the Chinese Spring Festival celebrations.
