It is now the season for crabs, which means that small sea crabs - especially the three-eyed crab - are much cheaper than usual, and vendors at a seafood market in Zhongfu Street in Pingtan county, East China's Fujian province, are selling three-eyed crabs for 5 yuan per jin (500 grams), while other crabs cost 30 yuan per jin, according to the Pingtan Times.
Some vendors have several baskets of live three-eyed crabs in front of their stores, with the aim of attracting customers.
And one passer-by, surnamed Lin, said that they are indeed inexpensive, as these crabs were selling for 10 yuan per jin just a few days earlier.
