The local procuratorate in Pingtan county, Fujian province, will soon initiate a public prosecution against a gang that provided illegal oil to the eastern area of the province, the Straits Metropolis Daily reported on Monday.

The four-member ring was busted by local police in Pingtan earlier this year. Starting in 2009, the reckless lawbreakers extracted sub-standard oil from parts of pigs and distributed it to feed mills and chicken farms in Pingtan, Putian and Fuzhou, raking in illegal gains of more than 400,000 yuan ($65,360), said the police.
