The local planting base of daffodils in Pingtan county - which was named a Fujian Provincial Agricultural Standardized Demonstration Area in August - is now aiming to gain national recognition, according to Wen Pinrong, general manager of the Pingtan Daffodil Development Company.

Wen said that in order to achieve this goal, the base must expand its area from 20 hectares to 33.3 hectares. And he also said that he may invite Taiwan partners over to provide economic assistance and talent support.

Wen added that it was encouraging to be named a provincial agricultural base, as this also helps promote the brand of their daffodils.
