Taiwan compatriots and Pingtan residents attended a special event on Sept 17 to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival.

Tao Juncheng, deputy director of the Pingtan Association of Taiwan Businessmen, said that the county aimed to create a special atmosphere for the Chinese traditional festival for Taiwan people who are doing business in Pingtan.

Zheng Liwei, vice secretary of the association, could not return home to Taiwan due to personal reasons. He said that the festival seemed to be celebrated in a similar manner in Pingtan and in Taiwan.

Local residents aimed to make the guests feel at home, and they served them various delicacies and also mooncakes and Taiwan-style dishes.
