All power lines affected by Typhoon Trami have been repaired and power has been restored, after the 12th typhoon to hit China this year landed in Fujian province's Fuqing city on August 22 and ravaged Pingtan county, resulting in direct economic loss of more than 100 million yuan ($16.34 million).
The local power company – which responded immediately by setting up 13 teams with 260 workers to repair the damaged facilities, and succeeded in restoring power in downtown Pingtan on the evening of August 22 - made the announcement on August 24.
Another 104 workers from Fuzhou, Xiamen, Zhangzhou, Luoyuan and Minqing were sent to Pingtan on August 22.
Twenty-two 10kV power lines were toppled and 64 electricity poles were destroyed due to Trami, according to the company.
