The authorities in Pingtan have recruited forty-four fresh college graduates to start jobs in government institutions in villages across the county, the Pingtan Times reported on August 12.

The students are set to work in positions such as assistant to a local Party Secretary or a village director, in a bid to increase the quality of services at the grassroots level in rural areas.

Since 2008, various government departments in Pingtan have recruited 73 college graduates - including seven PhD holders - and local villages have also appointed 86 graduated college students to various positions.
