A delegation of Party and government leaders from the city of Wuyishan in Fujian visited the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone on August 2. Gong Qinggai, director of the Pingtan administrative committee, welcomed the delegation and gave a presentation about the zone's development.

Gong said that, since the establishment of the zone three years ago, Pingtan has promoted the development of infrastructure and has improved the ecological environment. "We've made valuable explorations in terms of pilot zone policies and institutions in order to prepare for further opening up to Taiwan and cross-Straits cooperation," he also said.

Liang Weixin, Party secretary of Wuyishan, said that "Pingtan's development is at full steam," and that other organizations could be inspired by the city's growth pattern.

The trip is expected to lead to deeper communication and cooperation between the two sides.
