Construction of an emergency water plant in the Jinjing Bay district in Pingtan county, Fujian province, is set to begin this month, with the aim of meeting the requirements of the Pingtan branch of TPK Holding (TPKP), a leading manufacturer of touch screens in Taiwan.
The Pingtan Times said the plant would ensure a daily water supply of 15,000 tons and is expected to be completed by the end of September, adding that workers were laying temporary water pipes outside the TPKP factory.
The local water service provider will conduct a series of tests by September 30 before the plant is put into operation.
TPKP boasts a registered capital of $150 million and a total investment of 3 billion yuan ($489.3 million).
