Local border forces recently pitched a mobile tent at the Pingtan Haitan National Scenic Zone, a tourism spot in southern part of Pingtan island, in a bid to offer a better service to tourists.

The Haitan Deity, a large rock in the shape of a reclining man, is located in the zone and it attracts tens of thousands of visitors every year.

The border forces opened the mobile police station in order to solve problems relating to traffic, to offer information and to help solve disputes - and two police officers and a paramedic are on duty every day.

"In daytime, policemen offer consultation services (for the tourists). When night falls and tourists turn to various entertainment activities the police go on patrol to ensure the safety of the revelers," said Ou Jingjun, an officer with the local border forces.

He added that the mobile station's location demonstrates the creative and innovative spirit of the police, and can help to promote the economic development of the zone.

The station has so far solved 12 cases and mediated 2 disputes, assisting 120 tourists.
