A group of elite high school graduates, consisting of eight students who achieved high scores in this year's college entrance examination, or gaokao, gave a lecture for junior students to share their study experiences.

The lecture, which was initiated by Chen Yezheng from Fuzhou No 1 Middle School, was held at Xihang 3D International Theatre at 9:30 am on Wednesday.

Chen, 18, said she wanted to "do something of significance" during summer and the idea of hosting a gaokao lecture just hit her out of the blue.

"Why not put together some of the gaokao winners to kick off an experience-sharing meeting?" she said.

Chen then reached out to seven of her good friends from Pingtan No 1 Middle School, Fuzhou No 1 Middle School and the Affiliated Middle School to Fuzhou Normal University who also waltzed through the gaokao in June. She also recruited a couple of volunteers for the arrangement of the lecture.

"Everybody has put in a lot of effort. I'm so moved to be part of this team," said Li Xijian, a member of the elite-eight.

"I want to share my study experiences with students from lower grades. Hopefully they will have a happy, successful senior year," said Chen.
