The Cross-Straits Young Entrepreneurs Association of Pingtan (CYEAP) was established in the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, East China's Fujian province, on June 18.

The association aims to boost cross-Straits communication by utilizing the young generation of entrepreneurs in order to contribute to Pingtan's development.

Lin Benshan, executive deputy director of the Pingtan administrative committee, was appointed as the CYEAP's chairman at a general assembly on Tuesday.

A range of strategic deals were signed between the CYEAP and many organizations and enterprises including the China (Taiwan) Youth Career Development Association, China Minsheng Bank, China Merchants Bank, cross-Straits operation bodies of the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement as well as Fujian TV.

The establishment of the CYEAP provides a large platform for youngsters from across the Taiwan Straits to showcase their talent. It will enhance cross-Straits economic and trade as well as industrial and cultural cooperation, said Zhao Xiaobo, deputy director of the Pingtan administrative committee.

Zhao also hoped that young entrepreneurs will work together to strengthen Pingtan's construction.
