Residents will feel more at ease at the recently retrofitted county hospital in Pingtan county, Southeast China's Fujian province, Pingtan Times reported.

The service center and payment center have been moved down from the second floor to the first floor where patients can also register and print lab test reports and discharge abstracts.

The emergency room in the center of the lobby has doubled in size and has been equipped with oxygen generators and sputum suction devices.

In the infusion center, TV sets and water boilers are among the latest additions. A restroom has been installed too.

The cost to refurbish the hospital was more than 1 million yuan ($162,000).
