Survey work begins for undersea gas pipeline in Pingtan

A survey project in the Pingtan section of the West-East Gas Pipeline III was launched recently in Pingtan island county, Fujian, Pingtan Radio and Television Station reported Wednesday, April 17.
The West-East Gas Pipeline is a set of natural gas pipelines that run from West to East China. Constructed in October 2012, the third pipeline runs from Horgos in western Xinjiang to Fuzhou in Fujian.
The pipe will cross the Pingtan Straits, meaning it will cover a length of 3,480 meters under sea. Its deepest point will be 32.7 meters below sea level.
The survey work of the pipeline was conducted by the design institute of China National Petroleum Corporation.
