Guests from Taiwan's Delta Electronics Inc visited the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone on March 26 to meet with pilot zone officials for investment possibilities in the pilot zone, Pingtan Times reported.

The company is a leading solution provider for electricity and heating management. It has research and development centers and production bases worldwide, including the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, the US, Thailand, Japan, Mexico, India, Brazil, and the European Union.

Gong Qinggai, director of the pilot zone's administrative committee, briefed the guests on the zone's development and opening-up in recent years.

Aiming to develop itself into a common homeland for people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits, Pingtan is striving to open more direct marine routes and obtain more preferential policies. It also hopes to become a new platform for logistics and international trade across the Straits, creating optimized conditions for Taiwan companies to expand their market share in the Chinese mainland.

Gong said some of the best electronics information companies from Taiwan have settled in Pingtan. He also welcomed the Delta Group to set up a research center and production bases in the zone.

Xie Shenyan, executive vice-president of the company, expressed their willingness to run investment projects in the pilot zone after investigating the zone's public infrastructure and other economic conditions.
