As the weather gets warm, the cole flowers on Tannan Bay along Round-the-Island Road in Pingtan Island, Fujian province, bloom to create a pleasant scene, Pingtan Times reported.

The cole flower field stretches for 2.5 kilometers like a golden ocean. According to a local gardener, the flowers have attracted many visitors and even new couples looking to take wedding photos.

There are two kinds of cole flowers, high and dwarf, in Tannan Bay. Considering the local weather, the dwarf cole flowers cover more area. More cole flowers will be planted along Round-the-Island Road next year, according to Zhang Shangju, an official from Pingtan Forest Landscape Co.

"Cole flower florescence can last for over a month, and it is the best season for citizens to enjoy the beautiful sights in Tannan Bay," Zhang said.

"In order to build Pingtan into a 'forest garden', we have built a Chinese rose base that includes dozens of rose species," said Lin Tongzhang, general manager of the company.

In addition to cole flowers, bougainvilleas, azaleas and wild chrysanthemum flowers are also blooming in the Tannan Bay area as spring nears. Pingtan Forest Landscape Company also plans to grow Chinese roses on Round-the-Island Road to decorate the road as a garden corridor.
