SPDB branch opens in Pingtan

An opening ceremony for the Pingtan branch of Shanghai Pudong Development Bank (SPDB) was held on Dec 13 in the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Fujian province.

Guests present at the celebration included Huang Xinluan, deputy secretary general of the Fujian provincial government and director of the Fujian Finance Office; Wang Maochang, member of the Party working committee of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone and deputy director of Pingtan's administrative committee; and Yu Zhanyong, deputy chief of the Fujian Supervision Bureau under the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC).

Wang spoke highly of SPDB's role in supporting economic construction and development in the pilot zone. As a joint-stock commercial bank, SPDB has offered financial support worth 498 million yuan ($79.68 million) through innovative financial services and products in the short time it has operated in the zone. The bank showed its advantages in its systems, mechanisms, talent management, and capital strength.

He also noted that Pingtan will continue creating a better financial environment. The zone will provide financial institutions in the zone with high-quality, efficient logistics services.
