The 2012 Cross-Straits (Fuzhou) Fishery Week and seventh Straits (Fuzhou) Fishery Expo were unveiled in Fuzhou, capital of southeast China's Fujian province, in September.

The Taiwan Pavilion boasted more than 200 booths which were divided into a fishermen image zone, leisure fishery zone, ECFA (Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement) achievements zone and World Ocean Day special zone.

The pavilion gathered 60 Taiwan enterprises to display various aspects of the Taiwan fishing industry. A giant grouper fish extending over 180 centimeters was also on display.

Sha Zhiyi, director of the Taiwan Fisheries Association, said Taiwan had demonstrated its recreational and tourist fishery industry and gained insights into the fishery culture of the mainland in an attempt to improve cooperation and exchange.
