Typhoon Saola hit Fujian province's Fudingyu county, on Aug 3, at a speed of 25 meters per second with a central pressure of 985hPa, according to the report released by Pingtan's meteorological department.

Saola is heading northwest at a speed of 15 to 20 kilometers per hour, and weakening gradually. Experts expect Saola will move across the north part of Fujian and enter Jiangxi Friday evening.

A radar data analysis shows that Saola will bring a short but heavy rainfall of 30 to 50 mm to Pingtan.
