The development index of the Chinese footwear industry was first released at the 18th Jinjiang Footwear & Sports International Expo, which opened on April 18. Released on the website , the index is considered to be the first of its kind reflecting the development trends of the footwear industry in China.
The complete supply chain of the footwear in Jinjiang gives it an advantage nationwide and globally, said Jiang Jianhui, deputy chairman of Commerce Statistical Society of China.
The index consists of three parts: the price, development trends and export performance. Following the scientific principles of modern statistics and integrated evaluation, the index was worked out on the statistics from 60 local footwear enterprises, which fully reflect the overall condition of the footwear industry.
The index plans to be released at the start of each month in the forms of pictures, tables and analysis, and will increase in frequency during market fluctuations.
