Zhang Qi, research fellow and  Vice-Director-General, Research Department of Foreign Economic Relations, Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC)

She studied at Peking University in 1991 and got Bachelor's Degree in international politics. In 1997, she graduated from Columbia University of USA and got Master’s Degree in economic policy management.

She worked in the International Cooperation Department of DRC in 1991 and was appointed Deputy Director in 1994. She was transferred to the Research Department of Foreign Economic Relations of DRC in 1998 and took the post as Deputy Director. From 1999-2000, she worked as a consultant on economic affairs in the Head Office of OECD in Paris. From 2000 to 2005, she was first Director and research fellow and later took the post as Deputy Director-General of Research Department of Foreign Economic Relations of DRC.

Her research field covers economic management system relating foreign economy, international trade, cross-border investment, regional economic cooperation and multi-trade system.

She has won the following honors and awards:

2nd prize of National Foreign Economic and Trade Research Findings Award respectively in 2001 and 2002 for her paper on Reform of China's Foreign Economic Management System after China's Entry into WTO and Research on Large-scale Enterprises Going Global.

3rd prize of China Development Research Award in 2001 for her paper Strategic Research on Development of China's New Regional Passenger Plane.

2nd prize of National Foreign Economic and Trade Research Findings Award in 2005 for her paper Strategic Options for China's Textiles and Clothing Management Mode in the Post-quota Era.

2nd prize of China Development Research Award in 2007 for her paper Feasibility Study on China-Korea Free Trade Area.

DRC Excellent Research Report Prize in 2007 for her paper Impact on Manufacturing Industry Imposed by China-Japan-Korea Free Trade Area.
