Non-patentable subject matter

According the Patent Law, the following subject matters may not be granted patent right: (1) scientific discoveries;(2) rules and methods for mental activities; (3) methods for the diagnosis or for the treatment of diseases; (4) animal and plant varieties (methods of production are excluded); (5) substances obtained by means of nuclear transformation. And no patent right shall be granted for any invention- creation that violates the laws of the State, goes against social morals or is detrimental to the public interest, such as methods or tool of making counterfeit money. And for some invention-creation whose purpose may not be illegal but its use may go against social morals or is detrimental to the public interest like master key, it may not be granted patent right either.
