The opening ceremony of the 2012 Beijing Overseas Talents Exchange Conference was held in Zhongguancun Science Park on Sept 27. As many as 200 overseas talents from the United States, Britain, Germany, Canada, Australia and other countries and regions attended the meeting.

The conference was held between Sept 27 and 29 for the second time in Zhongguancun. Leaders from the Beijing Human Social Security Bureau, the science park's management committee, and the Beijing Overseas Scholars Center introduced relevant policies to attract high-level overseas talent.

Activities included visits to the Zhongguancun Overseas Students Pioneer Park and Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone, and an innovation exhibition.

The activities aimed to introduce the creative and entrepreneurial environment as well as highlight policies in Beijing to attract more overseas scholars for the region's development.
