The Hefei municipal tourism administration yesterday released a cultural tourism activity scheme for the 2013 Spring Festival golden week. Nineteen large-scale activities will be held across the city and some tourist attractions would also provide preferential treatment for visitors.

The 2013 China Hefei Spring Festival Stocking Carnival and the fifth China (Hefei) Spring Festival Stocking Expo will be held in the Anhui International Convention and Exhibition Center from January 26 to February 3. Taiwan will also launch a free-tasting activity then.

The 19th Hefei Spring Festival Culture Temple Fair will kick off in Chenghuangmiao between Feb 5 and Feb 24, when calligraphers will be invited to write Spring Festival couplets to citizens for free. On the afternoon of Jan 30, the Hefei General Trade Union will also organize calligraphers to write Spring Festival couplets on the first floor of Worker's Cultural Palace.

Apart from these activities, folk performances are available in the Anhui Miniature Attraction Garden (Huiyuan Garden), Anhui International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Chenghuangmiao and the sixth floor of the Worker's Cultural Palace. The seventh Huiyuan Garden Spring Festival Folk Temple Fair will be open to the public from the first day of the new year to the sixth day.

Visitors whose Chinese zodiac is the snake can enjoy discounts. In addition, citizens interested in science and technology can go to the Hefei Science and Technology Museum and Crossing Yangtze River Memorial for science plays and 4D movies during Spring Festival. At the same time the botanical garden will offer a narcissus exhibition.
