The 2012 Xidi - Hongcun Cup, a part of the Yi County Photography Exhibition, was inaugurated on Dec 29 in Pingshan village, Yi county. The festival was organized by Huangshan Jingyi Tourism Development, Xidi Hongcun Service Company and Yi County Huihuang Tourism.

The photography exhibition displayed 780 works, including award-winning works from former Yi County Photography Exhibitions and famous foreign and domestic photographers. At the Pishan Scenic Spot parking lot, 515 works were on display. Among the works, 85 won awards in the 2011 Yi County Photography Exhibition, 200 won awards in the Huangshan and Hulun Buir photography exhibitions, 60 won awards in the Huangshan Scenery Photography Exhibition, 80 won awards in the Shitaijinqiucaiye Photography Exhibition, and 90 won awards from the Yi County Ideal Village Photography Exhibition. Hongcun Nanhu Academy also exhibited 60 award-winning works from the Yi County Photography Exhibition. Wangshi Clan Hall exhibited 60 works of Huangshan Taipinghu scenery. Xidi Jingai Hall exhibited 60 works from the Yi County Top 100 Photography Locations Exhibition. Zhuimu Hall exhibited 60 works about Anhui Shitai — considered the most beautiful original Chinese village.

During the festival, a Taohuayuanli Dinner Party was held in Youqing Hall in Pingshan Scenic Spot from Dec 29 to 31. The activity included many kinds of rural New Year's rituals such as pasting spring couplets and pictures, putting up lanterns, setting off firecrackers, and eating tea eggs. The dinner party included activities such as setting the table, gathering pigs, knife worship, killing pigs, water preparation, plucking hair, sorting the meat, cooking, and the New Year's dinner. By participating in these activities, tourists were able to better understand life on rural farms.
