Anhui Pavilion to go home

2010-10-27

The Anhui Pavilion at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo is expected to be relocated to the Huiyuan Garden in Hefei, the capital city of Anhui province, after the Expo ends on Oct 31.

Hefei is most likely to be the new home of the pavilion among the three cities vying for the relocation, including Huangshan, according to the Anhui branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

"The Anhui Pavilion stands a fair chance of being rebuilt in the capital city Hefei," council sources said. Although which company to handle the reconstruction hasn't been decided, the pavilion will be pulled down as soon as the Expo closes, the source said.

Statistics show that more than 2.3 million tourists already have visited the Anhui Pavilion at the Expo. Interested tourists would be able to visit Anhui Pavilion in Hefei after its relocation.
