Northeast China's Jilin province reported growth in its general public budget revenue in the first two months of 2021, with the figure standing at 23.5 billion yuan ($3.58 billion) - an increase of 17.8 percent over the same period in 2019, before the COVID-19 epidemic, and an increase of 34.9 percent over the same period last year.

This is mainly due to the stabilization and recovery of Jilin province's economic operation.

The province has given equal weight to epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development, and has been striving to promote high-quality economic development, laying a solid foundation for achieving rapid growth in fiscal revenue.

At the same time, Jilin continues to innovate in its construction sector.

Since the beginning of this year, the construction of projects in Jilin province has been accelerated, industrial production and sales have continued to improve, and public consumption has been relatively improved.

The local tax-take from major industries has increased significantly; that of the automobile manufacturing industry has increased by 95.9 percent year-on-year.

Automobile manufacturing, real estate, wholesale and retail, finance and construction are the top five industries in terms of Jilin province's fiscal tax contribution rate, accounting for nearly 60 percent of the province's tax revenue.

This year, Jilin has launched a total of 150 service measures in 30 categories to optimize its taxation and business environment. The taxation department of Jilin province will further implement various preferential tax policies.
