Li Caiyun, a deputy to the 13th National People's Congress (NPC), has made suggestions on promoting science and technology in order to drive the development of enterprises.

Li Caiyun, 48, was formerly an ordinary oil worker. Currently, she is the head of the Model Worker Innovation Studio at the Xinmu Oil Production Plant in Jilin Oilfield.

The year 2020 that has just passed was particularly unforgettable for Li Caiyun.

She led the other three members of the studio in the joint research and development of nine new utility patents and one national invention patent, and in the promotion of three production technologies, based on the needs of the production line.

Among these creations, the portable oil well replacement device and polished rod salvage device they developed and applied helped overcome the disadvantages of severe corrosion of polished rods, the costly and laborious repair of polished rods, and safety risks, thereby reducing maintenance costs and improving work efficiency.

"I often use my time on the well to communicate with nearby residents. The suggestions made by the people this year are no longer confined to people's livelihood appeals. Many of them are scientific and technological suggestions. For example, how to achieve wealth through technology and how to attract college students to return to their hometowns to start businesses," said Li.
