An evening party that featured various song, dance and instrumental musical performances was thrown at July 25 at Meihekou -- a city with a vibrant emerging tourism industry, located in the southeast part of Northeast China's Jilin province -- according to local officials.

They said the party presented the city's charms to tourists and locals alike.

As an important activity held for Meihekou’s summer tourism festival, the evening party has attracted throngs of people.

Officials said they enjoyed performances with local characteristics, as well as the unique Meihekou beers.

The summer tourism festival will continue to introduce various special themed activities, according to local officials.

Information about the daily activities will be released through the WeChat official account of the “Meihekou Release”, so that everyone can enjoy the enthusiasm and charms of Meihekou.

Local officials said that the efforts made by Meihekou to integrate within its tourism sector of Jilin province have been successful.

They added that the city has continuously optimized and upgraded its tourism products around the elements of food, accommodation, transportation, tourism, entertainment and shopping.

In 2019, the city hosted 1.08 million visitors who generated tourism revenue of 998 million yuan ($142.31 million).
