Jilin receives 4.43 million May Day holiday visitors

Northeast China’s Jilin province received 4.43 million visitors during the May Day holiday from May 1 to 5 -- 63.65 percent of the total recorded for the same period last year, according to the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.

The province recorded total tourism revenue of 4.1 billion yuan ($577.1 million) during the holiday and per capita spending was 924.87 yuan.

During this year’s May Day holiday, cities in Jilin province launched various activities.

The capital city Changchun launched 39 spring tourism routes for self-driving, photography, flower enjoying, fruit picking and more; Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture launched eight series of tourism activities and Liaoyuan launched more than 60 cultural and tourism activities to attract visitors.

Officials said that 96 A-level tourist attractions in the province were reopened, with a resumption rate of 41.56 percent and they received 700,000 visitors during the holiday. Also, a total of 80 star-rated hotels and 344 travel agencies resumed work.

During the five-day holiday, visitors booked tickets online and entered scenic spots during different time periods.

They were required to receive body temperature measurements before entering, according to officials.
