Jilin exhibition marks 70th anniversary of PRC’s founding

Update: 2019-09-30

An exhibition to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding the People’s Republic of China is being held in Jilin Provincial Museum in Northeast China’s Jilin province, according to officials.

The event is sponsored by CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Jilin Provincial People’s Government.

It features around 800 pictures and 300 objects depicting and reflecting Jilin province’s development and tremendous achievements in its economy, politics, culture, society and other areas in the past seven decades -- as well as the spirit of self-improvement and diligence of the Jilin people.

The whole exhibition covers an area of 2,110 square meters and is divided into three chapters by time span—respectively the 1949-78 period between the founding of PRC and the beginning of the Reform and Opening-up, the 1978-2012 period covering the Reform and Opening-up and the period of revitalization since 2012.

The organizers have aimed to enhance the exhibition's attraction, interactivity and participation. They have achieved this by adopting a variety of artistic, high-tech and interactive means -- such as the use of robots, 3D printing, satellite real-time observations and VR technologies -- to present exhibits.

The exhibition will run about one month from Sept 30 to Oct 25 in Jilin Provincial Museum.

The organizers said that after that, the exhibited pictures will go on a roving exhibition in the cities of Jilin.
