Liaoyuan city seeks global investment in Changchun

Liaoyuan city in Northeast China’s Jilin province promoted its industries and sought investment at a conference held in Changchun, capital of Northeast China’s Jilin province, on Aug 23.

More than 300 people, including representatives from chambers of commerce and companies from over 10 countries, including the United States, Russia, Germany, and Australia, attended the promotional conference.

Chai Wei, Party secretary of Liaoyuan city, briefed attendees on the city’s development.

The city, hailed as the “home of China’s quilted stockings”, is also rapidly developing its high-precision aluminum processing, textile, new energy, new materials, healthcare, medicine, and agricultural product deep processing industries, said Chai.

The city is seeking more cooperation and investment from foreign countries and regions as part of the Belt and Road Initiative, Chai added.

An agreement signing ceremony was also held during the event, with Liaoyuan receiving investment from China National Nuclear Power Co Ltd, Wanda Group, a number of French and Singaporean companies, and more. Investments were made in areas such as biomass energy, real estate, food processing, and more.

The promotional conference was held as part of the 12th China-Northeast Asia Expo, which opened on Aug 23 in Changchun and will end on Aug 27.
