Jilin Culture Tourism Week commences in Russia

The 2018 Jilin Culture Tourism Week commenced at the Mariinsky Theatre in Vladivostok, Russia on Sept 18, aiming to promote Jilin's culture, recent developments and business opportunities to Russian people.

"Jilin has made great efforts in fostering mutual understanding, cultural communication and cooperation with Russia's Primorskiy Kray border region over the past few years," said Yan Wenbin, Chinese Consul General in Vladivostok, at the opening ceremony.

Yan pointed out that 2018 Jilin Culture Tourism Week will allow more Russians to gain further understanding of Jilin and China.

Over 1,300 people from all walks of life in Russia enjoyed a Chinese symphony performance of traditional Chinese music titled "Fujitianchang" at the Mariinsky Theatre on the day.

Initiated in 2011, Jilin Culture Tourism Week has also been held in many other countries, including South Korea, Japan, Mongolia, the US, Canada, France and Germany. A series of cultural activities will be rolled out throughout the events, including a poetry reciting competition and a cross-border joint interview.
