A grand ceremony featuring young filmmakers was held in Changchun, Jilin on Sept 4 during the 14th Changchun Film Festival.

A number of young actors and actresses shared their dreams and visions of films with the audience. Li Yugang, a renowned singer and actor, rendered two hit songs for the event and encouraged the youth to go after their dreams in the film industry.

A total of 2,764 short films produced by young directors were exhibited during the festival. Fifteen of them stood out and were welcomed with applause that night.

The results of a movie poster contest were also announced at the ceremony. Most of the 277 winners were chosen from the works of college students.

"We hope that one day we will become professional filmmakers, dedicating to the silver screen with passion and faith," pledged a group of students from Jilin University of Arts at the end of the ceremony.
