A promotional conference on ice and snow tourism in Changchun, capital of Jilin province, was held on Dec 4, the opening day of the 2018 China Changchun Ice and Snow Travel Festival.

Representatives of tourist departments from a dozen Chinese cities attended the meeting.

Lu Fujian, deputy general secretary of Changchun, said the city has an abundance of culture and unique features and has earned reputations such as "automobile city", "film city", and "forestry city".

The local government is now focusing on developing Changchun's tourism into a pillar industry. The city's histories in automobile manufacturing, film production, and ice and snow culture are all included in the strategy.

At the conference, basic information about the Ice and Snow Travel Festival was introduced. According to the festival's organizing committee, 41 winter sports and over 100 festive public activities will be held.

At the same time, visitors will be able to enjoy established attractions such as hot springs and horseback-riding.

Several delegates from those and other attractions introduced their respective beautiful scenery and advanced facilities and invited tourists around the world to visit Changchun for adventures in this wonderland of ice and snow.
