The 13th China Changchun Film Festival opened at the Changchun International Conference Center on Oct 11. The Warriors, a film memorializing the red army's Long March, was shown at the opening ceremony.

The Changchun International Film Festival, launched 24 years ago, was the first film festival in China to be named after a city. As an important part of the development of the Chinese film industry, the festival has demonstrated the professionalism, power and charm of film over the years.

With a theme of "Strengthen friendship, inherit culture, promote communication, innovation and development", the festival will grant Jinlu Awards and hold a New Chinese film power forum.

The team of judges, chaired by renowned director, producer, and ex-CEO of China Film Group Corporation Han Sanping, also includes vice-chairman Zhou Jiandong, inspector of China's State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, the composer Ma Youshang, scriptwriter Su Xiaowei, Hong Kong director Luo Qirui, actress Xu Fan, Taiwan director Cai Yuexun and five representatives of the media.

Wang Tingkai, a member of the standing committee in Changchun, attended the opening ceremony, which started with the song We meet in Changchun and ended with the showing of The Warriors.
