Aircraft to watch at Aviation Open event
At the upcoming Aviation Open event, 44 different aircraft, including third-generation fighters, large cargo planes, special function planes, and trainers, together with surface-to-air missiles, surface-to-air radar, and space-based weapons will be on display in Changchun,Jilin province. They embody the abundant accomplishments and rich history of the Chinese Air Force.
The Xian H-6K, KJ-500, Ilyushin Il-76 and infantry fighting vehicles will be shown for the first time. The Chengdu J-10, JH-7, Q-5, HQ-9 Anti-aircraft missile system, CJ-5, and JJ-5 will be displayed on the ground, and the JL-10 and J-11 will give aerial performances.

With a reinforced composite material structure and enlarged engine inlets for its Russia Soloviev D-30 turbofan engines it has a combat radius of 3,500 kilometers, a glass cockpit with large sized LCD multi-function displays, and a reworked nose section eliminating the navigator's station in favor of a more powerful radar.
The H-6K is a significantly more modern aircraft than its earlier version. The bomb bay has been replaced for extra fuel capacity, and six underwing pylons have been fitted for CJ-10A cruise missiles.

The Ilyushin Il-76 is a multi-purpose four-engine turbofan strategic airlifter designed by the Ilyushin design bureau. It was first planned as a commercial freighter in 1967 to replace the Antonov An-12. It was designed to deliver heavy machinery to remote, poorly served areas of the USSR. Military versions of the Il-76 have been widely used in Europe, Asia and Africa, often as an aerial refueling tanker or command center.

The Chengdu J-10 is a lightweight multirole fighter aircraft capable of all-weather operation, configured with a delta wing and canard design, with fly-by-wire flight controls. It is produced by the People's Republic of China's Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) for the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). The Pakistani Air Force is the only export customer for the J-10.

The Shenyang J-11 is a single-seat, twin-engine jet fighter. Its airframe is based on the Soviet-designed Sukhoi Su-27 (NATO reporting name: Flanker), a superior air fighter. It is currently manufactured by the Shenyang Aircraft Corporation. The People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) of China (PRC) is the sole operator of the aircraft.
