In his article, Zheng declared that the National Committee of the Chinese Writers Association could not promote the prosperity and development of Chinese literature. He also said the indifference to the victims of the Yushu earthquake, especially the response from Cao Wenxuan, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese Writers Association and vice chairman of Beijing Writers Association, was so disappointing Zheng can not bear his association with such members of the Writers Association.
