Maker, a term coined by the former chief editor of Wired magazine, Chris Anderson, refers to people who turn innovative ideas into creative products due to their hobbies and interests. Maker culture is an extension of the do-it-yourself culture, and combines technology, innovation and practice.

Wang Shujie is one of these makers. He formed a team with his two friends called "These Three" this year.

Through continuous grinding and welding, they are able to turn used metallic materials into treasure. A total of over 1,500 metal-made art designs have been made so far.

From his perspective, environmental protection is a daunting challenge for human beings. They cannot do magnificent things to change the world, but they can make the world better by making their own small contributions.
