PYONGYANG - A newspaper of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Tuesday spoke highly of the achievements China has made in its disaster relief efforts.

China has suffered several natural disasters including floods and earthquakes this year, which caused huge human and property losses, the Minju Choson newspaper said in an article.

The Communist Party of China and the Chinese government responded rapidly to the disasters with effective relief work, it said.

National mobilization proved to be the most effective way in disaster relief, it said.

Chinese leaders visited the disaster areas and led the relief efforts, setting a good example for local officials, it added.

With help from other parts of the country, people in affected areas are making great efforts to fight the disasters and resume normal life, the article said.
