Telecom official sacked for corruption

BEIJING - Su Jinsheng, former chief engineer of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, had been expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) and removed from his official post on charges of corruption, according to the ministry's website on Thursday.

Su had been transferred to judicial authorities, the statement on the website cited unnamed sources of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Ministry of Supervision.

Su received a huge amount of bribes and led a "corrupt life," according to the statement, adding the illegal proceeds had been confiscated.
