XI'AN - A lifter plunge that occurred at a coal mine under construction in northwest China's Shaanxi province Thursday morning has killed one worker, injured two others and trapped at least another six, according to the provincial work safety authority.

The accident happened at 3:40 am at the Xizhuozi Coal Mine, sources said.
